Arc Herkimer’s mission is empowering people with disabilities and enriching lives throughout our community. Arc Herkimer provides a wide range of quality support services and activities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Participants and their families are encouraged and supported in the expression of their individual rights and preferred choices. Arc Herkimer provides consultation to ensure that each service package is appropriately designed to meet the personal needs and preferences of the individual. Service packages may include one or more of the services offered. All Arc Herkimer services are provided at the highest quality and comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and laws. In May 2014, Arc Herkimer received the Council on Quality and Leadership's (CQL) Accreditation, which deems the organization as an agency of excellence in person-centered services and as a leader in providing choice to individuals with disabilities and others in the community. Arc Herkimer ultimately earned this accreditation due to the high level of commitment from staff, board members, families, and the individuals supported.

In 2015, Arc Herkimer was honored with a 2015 International Award of Excellence by CQL. This award highlights Arc Herkimer's development of work opportunities for people with intellectual and development disabilities, while maintaining quality supports and service delivery in a non-certified setting at the Arc Herkimer Business Park. Arc Herkimer was one of five international recipients including organizations from Galway, Ireland, Fargo ND, Pierre, SD, and  St. Louis, MO.

The Vice President - Compliance & Quality/Corporate Compliance Officer oversees Arc Herkimer's Ethics Helpline, a confidential secure voice mail system that is committed to timely identification and resolution of all issues that may adversely affect individuals supported, staff, and/or Arc Herkimer. People can call anonymously. Telephone calls to the Ethics Helpline might include: known episode of misconduct or violation of agency procedures and/or questions regarding documentation or the implementation of agency polity.
